What if I have food alergies?
Currently you should not join Once a Week Cooking if you have food allergies that you can not adapt for. There are recipes with seafood, fish, eggs and milk. There is only one option right now. If you are adept at substituting items then you can still use the menus changing out the things that you are allergic to.
Otherwise, please check back frequently for updates because we do have plans to roll out more menu options in the near future. Especially a lactose free version because I am severely lactose intolerant. However, I do adapt the recipes in the meal plan for my families use or plan leftovers for myself on days I’m heating up a meal I can’t eat.

Why did you create Once a Week Cooking?
I’m a Busy Momma. My business also takes me outside the home. I’m just a normal mom, wife and business owner. I’m tired. I can’t do it all every night. But I also need to feed my family and eat healthy meals.
I searched the internet and bought several books. I read several websites, and while I did find a few “freezer” cooking menus and meals most of them were devoted to either every other day cooking and freezing, or once a month cooking. I have done once a month cooking and that is great if you have a full day to devote to cooking. I no longer do. I find a few hours once a week is much easier to come up with.
Also, money is tight. I get paid weekly and I cannot afford to shop for a whole month of meals at a time. I need to do it weekly. So I created the meal plans on Once a Week Cooking to share what I’ve learned with others. I figure if it can help one other mom save time, money and her health, not to mention her sanity, then it’s all worth it.
