Today I want to hear about your favorite celebrity chef.
I’m going to attack this in a couple of different ways. I have too many that I like to follow or that I want to pay respect to. I’ll tell you why I love them so much.
We watch a lot of food shows. I mean a lot. We love them and have for a really long time. Food shows are what really pushed me out of my boring, comfortable recipes and showed me that I had a ton of information in my own head I should be putting in a pot or skillet.
With out a doubt Emeril Legasse is the master and godfather of food shows. He got hubby really into the kitchen and creating. He got my hubby buying cookbooks! We still have two of his cookbooks that have favorite recipes in them. Emeril’s TV Dinners and Every Day’s a Party are used regularly. The tv dinners cookbook has the most amazing cheesecake recipe you will ever make. If you share it with anyone be prepared to be begged to make it again.
In true Emeril fashion both books are full of recipes, fun quips about New Orleans and cooking tips. Many are super fancy and some have a ton of ingredients. But that is part of the fun!
Our favorite chef that we like to watch never even cooks. That didn’t dawn on me until I started thinking about what to type about him. But we love Gordon Ramsey anyway. His personality is awesome and his shows are great entertainment. Masterchef has taught us so many culinary terms and fancy cooking techniques. I can’t think of any that we have used but maybe some day.
So that leaves me to a celebrity cook/chef that I use more of their recipes. Someone that I’ll get inspired to cook a new dish or tweak an old favorite by what I’ve watched. Without a doubt that’s Guy Fieri. I think it helps a lot that he’s from the west coast so his cooking is along the style we’d appreciate. Helps he’s not afraid to pull out the grill any day of the year 😉 His cookbook Guy Fieri Food: Cookin’ It, Livin’ It, Lovin’ It is a great mix of a ton of recipes and personal stories. Makes it a great read and resource.
